The Jane Rider is a Which? Best Buy multi purpose pushchair that probably works best in the city but can be used for occasional "off road" use. By attaching a Jane Matrix multi positional car seat (as per the primary image) the pushchair is converted to make a from birth "travel system". Included with the Rider Stroller with this listing is a Jane Matrix Light 2 car seat plus a changing bag and a raincover for the Rider stroller.
In total Rider can accept, (without the aid of adaptors), three different Jane car seat / in car carrycot options which are:
(1) ..Jane Matrix Light 2 ...the worlds only multi position car seat / car carrycot, secure in the car with a rotating ISOfix base or seat belts (description below)
(2)..Jane Koos ...probably the lightest conventional infant carrier in the market, secure in the car with ISOfix base or seat belts, (call for details)
(3) ..Jane Transporter ...in car carrycot, secure in the car by seat belts only, (call for details)
The Rider is THE market leading pushchair in many European countries primarily because it is built so well and is amazing value. Rider comes complete with shopping basket, hood, pushchair rain cover, changing bag and (dependant on model) either a parasol or extra large muslin.
Since its launch some 8 years ago the "Jane Rider" has earnt superb consumer reviews and is a true “all rounder” meaning it can cope with going off road. However, if you want to go off road on a regular basis, please look at the Rider's sister product "Trider" which like Rider is a Which? "Best Buy" pushchair.
So, what makes the Jane Rider so very special (other than its very classy look)?
Well it's the way Rider folds... to be exact it folds about 20% smaller than any other pushchair in its class and this is achieved by an amazing design which tucks the rear wheels under the main pushchair chassis (similar to that of an aircraft’s landing wheel system). It’s difficult to equate it in words, but by removing the seat, what starts as a normal size pushchair ends up as a dinky little bundle of modern oval aluminium tubes, which is lightweight to boot!
Unlike so many other pushchairs you do not have to remove the seat on the Jane Rider when you fold it down, though most parents do remove the seat because it is just so easy! The seat is big enough to satisfy any growing child, again something which some other manufacturers seem to have problems coping with.
Even more unusually Rider can be folded and unfolded using just one hand and the brake can also be applied using one hand, as opposed to a lever tucked close to the rear wheels which you can’t get to. Both the rear wheels on the "Jane Rider" (which are ball bearing raced) are quick release and the smaller front wheels can be easily locked so to aid use over rough ground. The handle is adjustable, seat reversible & multi position and if dad (or mum) is on the tall side don’t worry, it is pretty much impossible to kick the rear axle when pushing, thanks to its arched frame at the rear. Rider is fun, easy, great looking, well built, practical and amazing value!
Jane Matrix Light 2:
The Jane Matrix Light is a multi-positional car seat meaning... it can change shapefrom a car carrycot to a car seat. In addition, Matrix has two additional lie back positions for use when attached to your Epic.
Because of SIDS concerns the latest medical advice from Professor Peter Fleming OBE is for conventional infant carriers and newborn baby car seats is to limit journeys to no longer than 30 minutes in the first few weeks/months of life.
For further details on the benefits of new-born’s lying flat please click HERE and go to our Car Seat Breathing Website.
The Jane Matrix Light has no time limits (subject to it being used in used in the lie flat carrycot mode). You do not have to worry about the amount of time you are travelling with baby and you have the comfort knowing baby is travelling in a healthy & safe position. You can also use Matrix Light for occasional overnight sleeping and an additional mattress is also available.
The tethering clips (so to secure in a car) are integral so cannot get lost and Matrix can also be secured using an ISOfix platform/base (see below). The one of a kind “Matrix Light 2” is suitable up to 10kg in the lie flat position and then up to 13kg in the upright position. When in the upright position Matrix Light offers the possibility of leaving baby in a rear facing position for longer as Matrix is about 5 inches in length longer than a conventional infant carrier. It is quite common for babies to stay in Matrix for 14 - 18 months after birth.
Due to Jane’s Pro-Fix system (this means you don’t have to buy any adaptors, the exception being the Bugaboo Cameleon), the Jane Matrix Light is travel system compatible with the whole range of Jane pushchairs.
An ISOfix Base for use in the car (called a Platform) is also available for Matrix Light which operates on a turntable system allowing Matrix Light to both lie flat and rear face in the car. The Platform makes using Matrix Light incredibly easy.

A note about the Jane brand. Jane are one of the world’s largest brands and are based in Barcelona Spain. They have been in existence since 1932 and are brand or sector leaders in many of the 52 countries they supply including ones like China, Russia and the USA. Jane has created many industry "firsts" such as the world’s first multi folding pushchair, the world’s first multi position infant carrier car seat and the world’s first reclining ISOfix car seat (group 2/3). Some years ago Jane also supplied the UK company "Silver Cross" with a number of pushchairs which they successfully sold in the UK. Many in the industry believe Jane have the most advanced Car Seat Crash Research Centre in the world and every Friday it is open to school parties to visit.

Changing your mind:
Unhappy with your choice of purchase? As an internet buyer you have legal rights under the UK Distance Selling Regulations and you can return your purchase (if unused) within the time frames set out in these regulations. We know that buying online can sometimes result in changing your mind and that is fine by us, we want happy customers!
However, products must be returned in original packaging, unused and in the same condition as supplied. Please contact us for a Baby2k returns number if you want to activate a return which will be, (just like returning a product to a physical shop….. time, parking, fuel etc.) at the purchasers cost.
Service issues and faults:
Baby2k are the online retail division of Baby 2000 and we have been retailing baby products for over 30 years. In that time, we have learnt which products give great service! We don’t sell any product online which we would not be happy to use our self. We only offer online, brands that we have 100% confidence in.
In the unlikely event that you incur a problem with a product we have supplied, please contact us for help, often we can resolve the issue over the phone (or by email) or simply arrange for the manufacturer to resolve the issue on a direct basis. This is often the case for our customers based outside of the UK as most major brands these days offer a global warranty which are subject to their terms & conditions as supplied with the product at time of purchase. You may be required to provide proof of purchase such as your order number or the date of purchase.
It is very rare a product needs to be returned to us but should this be the case the return must be accompanied with a Baby2k returns number. Initially the return is at the purchaser’s expense but if a manufacturing fault is found you will normally be refunded the return costs. Most manufactures will require that a faulty product is forwarded to them for inspection unless of course they are dealing with the issue on a direct basis with you. The manufacturers decision on how to resolve any fault or complaint is final.
The purchaser needs to be aware that any items being returned for inspection must be securely packaged preferably in original packaging….(we once had a customer return their car seat in a bin bag!). Baby2k.com will not accept any returns that have not been correctly packaged (or has not been authorised) and we accept no responsibility for items damaged in transit that are being returned to us from the buyer.
In the event that a problem develops which is not due to a manufacturing fault, the cost of repair and transport will be at the purchaser's expense. We reserve the right to send parts and spares to purchasers should our supplier deem this to be appropriate.
Buyers and users are expected to use products supplied strictly in line with the manufacturer's recommendations and instructions and failure to do so will result in any claims being void.
Pushchairs are of course the product which results in the most problems and you would be very surprised to learn that the most common pushchair fault is normally resolved by a quick spray of a lubricant!
