The Kiddy Guardianfix Pro 2 is a forward-facing (group 1-2-3) car seat for children weighing from 9kg to 36kg that is normally about a year old up to a about a 12-year-old. It is a Which? Best Buy car seat.

The Guardianfix Pro 2 can be fitted into the car either by its integrated ISOfix bayonets together with the adult 3-point seatbelt or using the 3 point seat belt on its own. Not sure what Isofix is? here to see our video:

For younger children (group 1- up to 18kg), you use an impact shield to hold the child in place, rather than an integral harness. This curved foam slide-in shield (shaped like a wedge) fits tightly across the child’s tummy and is held in place by the adult (three point) seatbelt.

The technology of the shield system is that the child rolls forward around it in a crash reducing the strain on their neck and head.  In consequence Guardianfix Pro 2 has very good crash test results (similar to a rear facing car seat in a head on crash) and very good side impact crash test results.

This seat is very easy to fit and obviously comes with clear written instructions as well as the option to find fitting instructions on YouTube or via the Kiddy website.

Another great bonus is that the seat is really comfortable for your child to sit in. You can adjust both the width and height of the backrest and this seat boasts superb padding with good leg support. As well as being a great quality seat other useful features include easy to remove seat cover that can be machine washed.

A note about the Kiddy brand. Kiddy are a major German brand that are very strong in regard to car seats and in particular car seats that have impact shields. The impact shield is not new technology but it has come to the fore when research discovered that car seats with integral seat belts can cause injury (sometimes severe injury) to a child’s neck in frontal accidents. By using impact shields this type of injury is far less common and crash test results have shown results similar to rear facing car seats. Critics of impact shield car seats say children can “escape” from them but more often than not this is because the impact shield was not fitted tightly enough by the carer/parent.

Most children prefer an impact shield car seat as they are not so restrictive as a conventional harness and many parents like Kiddy models as they are very easy to move from car to car.

Kiddy are also very strong in lie flat car seats for newborns as research has shown that newborns should lay flat (or very near flat) when traveling so to avoid oxygen desaturation and SIDS. For more info on this subject we suggest you Google “Car seats oxygen desaturation” or similar or feel free to contact us.

Product costs are normally lower in the UK than in mainland Europe because we have lower running costs and work on lower profit margins. The exchange rate (due to Brexit) is also of help. We only sell in £'s but conversion to your local currency is very easy in particular if you use PayPal as your payment option.

    Changing your mind:

Unhappy with your choice of purchase?  As an internet buyer you have legal rights under the UK Distance Selling Regulations and you can return your purchase (if unused) within the time frames set out in these regulations. We know that buying online can sometimes result in changing your mind and that is fine by us, we want happy customers!

However, products must be returned in original packaging, unused and in the same condition as supplied. Please contact us for a Baby2k returns number if you want to activate a return which will be, (just like returning a product to a physical shop….. time, parking, fuel etc.) at the purchasers cost.

    Service issues and faults:

Baby2k are the online retail division of Baby 2000 and we have been retailing baby products for over 30 years. In that time, we have learnt which products give great service!  We don’t sell any product online which we would not be happy to use our self. We only offer online, brands that we have 100% confidence in.

In the unlikely event that you incur a problem with a product we have supplied, please contact us for help, often we can resolve the issue over the phone (or by email) or simply arrange for the manufacturer to resolve the issue on a direct basis. This is often the case for our customers based outside of the UK as most major brands these days offer a global warranty which are subject to their terms & conditions as supplied with the product at time of purchase.  You may be required to provide proof of purchase such as your order number or the date of purchase.

It is very rare a product needs to be returned to us but should this be the case the return must be accompanied with a Baby2k returns number. Initially the return is at the purchaser’s expense but if a manufacturing fault is found you will normally be refunded the return costs. Most manufactures will require that a faulty product is forwarded to them for inspection unless of course they are dealing with the issue on a direct basis with you.  The manufacturers decision on how to resolve any fault or complaint is final.

The purchaser needs to be aware that any items being returned for inspection must be securely packaged preferably in original packaging….(we once had a customer return their car seat in a bin bag!). will not accept any returns that have not been correctly packaged (or has not been authorised) and we accept no responsibility for items damaged in transit that are being returned to us from the buyer.

In the event that a problem develops which is not due to a manufacturing fault, the cost of repair and transport will be at the purchaser's expense. We reserve the right to send parts and spares to purchasers should our supplier deem this to be appropriate.

Buyers and users are expected to use products supplied strictly in line with the manufacturer's recommendations and instructions and failure to do so will result in any claims being void.

Pushchairs are of course the product which results in the most problems and you would be very surprised to learn that the most common pushchair fault is normally resolved by a quick spray of a lubricant!
